Nancy Harrison
Senior Fine Art Specialist

Nancy Harrison is the Senior Fine Art Specialist at Fine Art Asset Management. In 2006, Ms. Harrison joined Emigrant Bank Fine Art Finance, which lends funds to collectors, art dealers, institutions and foundations. In 2009, she helped form its subsidiary, Fine Art Asset Management, which provides appraisal and art/financial consulting services.

Ms. Harrison is also President of the Appraisers Association of America (AAA), the oldest and most prestigious professional organization of personal property appraisers. She serves on the organization's Executive, Ethics, and Development Committees. Ms. Harrison is a Certified Appraiser in Old Master through to Contemporary Art, and has completed and passed USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice), the federally-mandated guidelines promulgated by the Appraisal Foundation, Washington D.C. and by Congress. Ms. Harrison has been qualified as an Expert witness in the States of New York, Florida, and Pennsylvania, and has testified in Federal Tax Court.

Prior to joining Fine Art Asset Management and Emigrant Bank Fine Art Finance, Ms. Harrison was President of her own art appraisal and advisory firm which brokered sales and acquisitions, managed collections, and developed a wide ranging fine art appraisal practice. Her clients included major collectors, insurance companies, and notable art institutions.

Ms. Harrison was a Senior Vice President and the Director of the l9th Century European Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture Department at Sotheby's for over 25 years. Prior to holding that position, she was a specialist in the Old Master Department at Sotheby's London, and a Fine Arts generalist for the firm.

Ms. Harrison has collaborated on numerous art publications, and is a lecturer on topics of Connoisseurship, Collecting, and Art Auctions at New York University's School of Continuing and Professional Studies, and has appeared as a lecturer at numerous national and international venues.

Ms. Harrison has been featured as an appraiser on PBS's Antiques Roadshow. She is a graduate of Vassar College, where she continues to Chair the Friends Council of the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center, and holds a Masters Degree in Art History from Hunter College Graduate Division. She is a member of ArtTable, an organization of women of leadership in the visual arts, the Century Association, and the Grolier Club.
